Patient FAQs

Do I need an appointment?

You do not require an appointment for an X-ray, these are done as a walk-in.

All other scans are by appointment only. It is advisable to call us and schedule your appointment as special patient preparations may be required. Alternatively please make an online request for imaging appointment by clicking here and we will phone you promptly.

Do I need to bring previous films/scans for my appointment?

It is imperative to bring any prior films you have with you to your appointment. It is helpful and often necessary for the Radiologist to compare your current scan to previous, to detect any changes. This enables the Radiologist to provide the most accurate report for your doctor.

How long will my scan take?

The duration of a scan will vary depending on the type and complexity of the issue. Please consult our friendly staff about your scan to see how long it will take. You can also refer to our patient information page for more information related to your specific scan requirements and duration time.

How soon will my doctor get the results for my scan?

Routine reports are sent to your doctor within 1 day of the scan. For urgent scans, reports are sent out the same day. For urgent and emergent situations, our Radiologists will phone your doctor directly to discuss results, if necessary. Please advise our friendly staff if you are seeing your doctor shortly after your scan so we can ensure the films and report are available for your doctor.

How much will my examination cost?

Your imaging scan may or may not attract a Medicare rebate and please consult our staff prior to your scan. All Medicare eligible Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine scans will be bulk-billed. A small gap-fee will be charged on Obstetric morphology and nuchal translucency Ultrasound scans, and Ultrasound or CT guided injection/biopsy. We will waive this gap-fee for all pensioners, health-care card holders and students.
